- Dr Khalid Aziz is Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and Director of NECG.
- He graduated from Khyber Medical College and received postgraduate training in England. He received MRCP from the UK and Ireland. He did residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from University of Connecticut. He joined academic faculty at University of Connecticut Health Center. He served as Associate Program Director for Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program and became Associate Professor of Medicine. He has received many teaching awards.
- He performs advanced therapeutic endoscopy including capsule endoscopy, therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy, ERCP and radio- frequency ablation of various cancerous and precancerous lesions. He started endoscopic ultrasound, esophageal manometry and Impedence program at MetroWest Medical Center.
- He has written several chapters and is editor of five books on various topics in the field of Gastroenterology and liver disease including Cancer screening, liver diseases , gastrointestinal procedures and symptom approach to gastroenterology, liver and pancreatic diseases.
- He has been Principle and sub investigator in many industry sponsored and investigator initiated research projects. These include chronic Hepatitis C, ulcerative colitis and Cohn's disease, Celiac disease, acid and nonacid disorders of the esophagus.
- His interests include colon, esophageal, pancreatic and biliary cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, Celiac disease and liver diseases including chronic Hepatitis B & C, autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cirrhosis.
- He moved to Framingham MA and started private practice 17 years ago He is attending physician at MetroWest Medical Center(Framingham).
